Semi-Submersible, Cocaine Seized Off Guyana Coast

The United States and Guyana authorities have arrested four individuals and seized a Self-Propelled Semi-Submersible carrying 2,370 kilograms of cocaine. A U.S. Embassy in Guyana release disclosed that the seizure occurred approximately 150 miles off Guyana’s coast. The March 21 drug bust saw collaboration involving the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Georgetown Country Office, Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATFS), Guyana Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), and the United States Coast Guard (USCG). The USS Leyte Gulf interdicted the Self-Propelled Semi-Submersible vessel.
