Shocking Video Reveals 9-Year-Old Texas Girl Ejected from Car as Woman Demands Vehicle Move

A 25-year-old woman from Texas has been apprehended after allegedly instructing a 9-year-old girl to operate her vehicle, resulting in a crash that left the child hospitalized with severe injuries. Home security footage captured the vehicle careening down a street in reverse, with the door ajar, before colliding with a neighboring car, throwing the young driver from her seat. The incident took place in a San Antonio neighborhood on November 12, when Ladeja Pickett requested the girl, the child of a family acquaintance, to relocate her car while she was adorning her home for Christmas. Despite being informed that the girl lacked driving skills, Pickett insisted she would "learn." The child’s mother stated that Pickett positioned her daughter in the driver's seat, placed the vehicle in reverse, and allowed her to take control. Following the incident, the girl sustained a gash on her forehead and significant road rash, undergoing multiple surgeries and requiring a wheelchair for her recovery. Pickett has been charged with child endangerment and injury to a child.
