Sister Alma Louise Stinson is a native of Donelson, TN. She was born on April 18, 1924, in Donelson, TN (Davidson County), to the late Jerry Thomas Brooks, Sr., and Beatrice Murray Brooks. Sister Stinson is the third oldest of eleven siblings in which six are living (2 boys and 4 girls).
She attended Davidson County public schools, graduating from Haynes High School in Nashville. Sister Stinson was married to the late Roy B. Stinson. To this union there were three sons, William and Charles who preceded her in death and Thomas who is living. She has seven grandchildren, as well as numerous great, and great- great-grandchildren.
Sister Stinson worked over 40 years at National Linen Service and retired in 1995. Throughout the course of her life, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, serving as a beautician and seamstress for her family and friends.& She acquired this skill set while attending high school in her Home Economics Class. She was an excellent cook, who also loved bowling. Sister Stinson was baptized at an early age at Evans Hills Baptist Church in Hermitage, Tennessee.
