Six Black Leaders Named to Administrative Roles at Universities

Audrey Alexander has been appointed chief of police at Florida A&M University. She has nearly three decades of experience with the university’s department of campus safety and security, most recently serving as assistant director and administrative lieutenant. She is a retired major who served in the United States Army Reserve and Florida National Guard for more than two decades. Alexander is a three-time graduate of Florida A&M University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, a master’s degree in public administration, and a master’s degree in adult education. Van B. Sapp has been appointed vice president of external affairs at Tuskegee University in Alabama. He previously served as dean and professor at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he was a senior vice president at PepsiCo. Dr. Sapp is an alumnus of Tuskegee University, where he majored in business administration and management. He holds an MBA in marketing from Clark Atlanta University and a Ph.D. in organizational leadership from Concordia University Chicago.
