The Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association (SLHTA) has entered into a partnership with DeVry University to enhance educational opportunities for hospitality professionals. This agreement, formalized on July 30 at Bay Gardens Marina Haven, grants eligible candidates a 50 percent reduction in tuition and waives fees through DeVry’s Caribbean Bridge to Brilliance initiative, effectively dismantling financial and geographical obstacles to higher education.During the announcement, representatives from SLHTA, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), and DeVry discussed an array of online programs pertaining to hospitality management, business administration, and technology—fields instrumental for the sector's advancement. SLHTA President Erwin Louisy noted that this partnership significantly broadens academic offerings, introducing bachelor’s, master’s, and diploma programs essential for modern tourism competitiveness.Under this collaborative agreement, SLHTA will promote DeVry University’s programs to more than 200 member companies, highlighting opportunities for professional growth. DeVry's Scarlett Howery emphasized their commitment to workforce development across diverse sectors in Saint Lucia, equipping individuals for the demands of today's evolving job market.
