$200K Grant Opportunities In South Dallas Changes Things In A Positive Way

Established by the Dallas City Council in 1989, the South Dallas/Fair Park Opportunity Fund (SDFPOF) is dedicated to fostering growth and innovation within the community. This organization enhances neighborhoods near Fair Park by offering loans and grants aimed at supporting business and human development initiatives.Since 2020, the SDFPOF board has allocated over $2.7 million to assist local organizations and entrepreneurs in expanding their opportunities in South Dallas.The SDFPOF Human Development Notice of Funding Availability extends grants to nonprofits for launching or enhancing programs that yield significant advancements in workforce engagement, small business development, health, public safety, or educational results.The board makes recommendations regarding grants and loans to the city manager and City Council for projects that align with the fund's objectives. Applications for the 2026 Human Development grants became available on October 14, closing on December 5 at 5 p.m., with a total of $200,000 allocated annually for impactful initiatives in the community. The city’s Office of Economic Development will offer two information sessions to assist applicants.
