Southpark Mexican’s Parole Denied: Fans Rally For Release Amid Public Outcry

Carlos Coy, otherwise known as rapper “Southpark Mexican” was denied parole earlier this week despite spending well over two decades behind bars. Coy, who gained fame and success in the mid-1990s was sentenced in 2002 for the alleged aggravated sexual assault of a then 9-year-old girl.  Alligations accused the rapper of inappropriate behavior while the girl attended a sleepover in his Houston-area home on Labor Day weekend back in 2001.  Unfortunately, this was not Mr. Coy’s first and only accusation involving an underage girl.  He was accused of having and participating in inappropriate behavior with several other minors over the span of several years. Since his sentencing, his record label Dope House Records has continued to periodically release his music over the years in an attempt to what some would call to “keep his legacy alive”.
