SSU Intensifies Presence To Curb Burglaries

The Special Services Unit (SSU) of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is intensifying its presence across the island during the holiday season in a bid to curb burglaries, thefts, and violent altercations that typically rise during this period.
“There are persons that will evade the presence of the police. We will be at all ends on the highways, on the byways, in the backroads of Saint Lucia. For persons who intend to create or plan burglary or go contrary to the laws of Saint Lucia, the Special Services Unit will be out there,” warned SSU Commander, Inspector Lucius Small, during a press conference earlier this week.
Inspector Small outlined a robust operational strategy to ensure the safety of citizens and visitors during the festive season. “The Special Services Unit has put in place an operational strategic plan to heighten patrols in the city of Castries, both mobile and foot patrols, in Gros Islet, and also in the southern part of the island,” he explained.
