A Commitment to Stand Strong for Texas

As a representative of Texas, nothing is more abominable than the abuse of authority that undermines the Constitution we vowed to uphold. Our fundamental values and democracy must never be compromised.It is regrettable that politics intertwined with the recent devastation in Central Texas, delaying essential aid for impacted residents. I share in the mourning of the families and communities experiencing profound loss. These tragic circumstances should not have been politicized to advance the contentious issue of redistricting; an immediate executive response for relief was crucial.This disregard for governance reflects a troubling disinterest in our citizens’ suffering. Such actions reveal a profound leadership failure. Although the disruption caused by quorum breaks is disappointing, we must uphold democratic principles. We cannot allow a hostile takeover of our government and our freedoms.We, as legislators, must engage the public to facilitate meaningful dialogue on issues impacting them, fostering a Texas characterized by integrity, hope, and community.
