One of ESPN’s most well-known figures, Stephen A. Smith, recently acknowledged that his rigorous work schedule and personal philosophy have prevented him from ever getting married.
Smith gave a real and unvarnished account of his decisions on Cam’ron’s Talk With Flee podcast, explaining why he feels marriage isn’t a good fit for him.
Smith, a longtime ESPN mainstay, acknowledged that his work ethic has seriously hampered his ability to build connections. He explained why he was unable to commit to the concept of marriage, citing his schedule, which requires him to work 330 days a year and travel 200 of those days.
He told Cam’ron : “It is the reason why I’ve never been married,”. “Because I was on the road 200 days out of the year, and the fact of the matter is at that time it was no way in hell I was going to be faithful. I knew that, so why the hell am I going to sit up there and violate my marital vows knowing ahead of time I ain’t going to honor them?”
