Stephen A. Smith is set to broaden his broadcasting horizons beyond ESPN, taking on a new role that delves into more than just the realm of sports.SiriusXM announced on Wednesday that it has enlisted Smith to helm two innovative shows. One of these will be a daily sports talk program featured on Mad Dog Sports Radio, the channel established by renowned talk radio icon Chris Russo.Additionally, Smith will develop a weekly show focused on current events, pop culture, and social discourse. Both shows are slated to make their debut in September, although precise financial details of the multi-year agreement remain undisclosed.“September can’t arrive soon enough,” Smith commented. “It’s been a while since I immersed myself in radio, especially engaging with callers. I'm eager to dive back in.”This new venture will not impact Smith’s ongoing contract with ESPN, where he continues to feature on “First Take.” His rising appeal among younger audiences has sparked speculation regarding a potential political career.
