A groundbreaking study overseen by Loneke Blackman Carr, an assistant professor of nutritional science at the University of Connecticut, reveals the inadequacies of conventional weight loss strategies for Black women. Dr. Carr, alongside Jameta N. Barlow from George Washington University, analyzed a decade of research, from 2012 to 2022, focusing on behavioral weight loss interventions.
