Grow Together: Nurturing Support and Flourishing Connections

August is a bustling month in Indianapolis, marking the Indiana State Fair, the return of students from elementary to higher education, and the celebration of Black Business Month. Rather than solely emphasizing biblical encouragement for entrepreneurs—such as Psalm 37:5 or Galatians 6:9—this article focuses on the significance of supporting these businesses. There’s still ample time this month to show your support. Social media often shares ways to elevate businesses, including liking, sharing, commenting, and tagging owners in relevant discussions. Increased visibility can lead to a surge of new customers. However, beyond engaging online, we should actively choose to patronize at least three Black-owned ventures this month. Compile a list of desired products or services, identify Black-owned providers, and dive into their stories, missions, and values. Seek insights from acquaintances who have supported them, as outlined in Proverbs 4:7. Supporting these businesses fosters deeper connections and cultivates growth, benefiting both customers and owners—an endeavor worth pursuing year-round. In solidarity, let’s support and nurture!
