Suspect In Custody Amid Fatal Vieux Fort Chopping Probe

Police took a male suspect into custody Sunday as they continued investigating last week’s fatal chopping in Vieux Fort. The suspect is a Bridge Street, Vieux Fort resident. Dead as a result of the chopping is 39-year-old Kervin Louis, alias’ Colly Pool”. Vieux Fort Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers responded on Thursday at about 11:20 am to the chopping report, finding the victim in a pool of blood on Bridge Street, Vieux Fort. Louis had sustained a laceration across the neck and chest, and a medical doctor at the scene pronounced him dead. Family members disclosed that earlier in the day, the deceased was involved in an altercation, and they learned that a masked individual had later attacked him.
