By Judie Holcomb-Pack Enjoy some holiday time with the Salem Swing Band at its Holiday Concert on Sunday, Dec. 22, at 3 p.m. at Clemmons First Baptist Church, 3530 Clemmons Road, Clemmons. You’ll hear lots of your favorite sacred and secular holiday songs, all in a swing style, featuring vocalist Mignon Dobbins singing Ella Fitzgerald and other classic swing hits. Music from the Nutcracker, The Grinch, Peanuts, and a special rendition of “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” by our own trombonist, Steven Sherrill. Plus holiday standards “Sleigh Ride,” “Silent Night,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Deck the Halls” and more!  This is a free concert but donations are gratefully accepted. The concert will be held in the Family Life Center at Clemmons First Baptist Church. Salem Swing Band is the Triad’s premier swing ensemble. Salem Swing Band is a 19-piece big band that performs regularly throughout the region, playing everyone’s swing era favorites by Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Ella Fitzgerald, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, and more. Collaborations include Piedmont Swing Dance Society, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of W-S, Lewisville Community Center, and the City of the Arts Jazz Festival. Salem.
