A Florida couple captured in a viral video this summer, where they directed racial slurs and threats towards a Black man, now faces assault charges. According to WESH, Orange County court records reveal that 51-year-old Steven Edwin Wiley and 55-year-old Cheryl Ann Pyle were charged on October 24 for their verbal assault targeting Antavis Tyrone Johnson. Johnson recounted that he encountered Wiley and Pyle while canvassing their neighborhood to promote solar utility upgrades. The couple's reaction was immediate and hostile when he knocked on their door. “I could tell immediately she was upset,” Johnson stated regarding the wife’s response. Following their barrage of threats and slurs, Johnson began recording his experience, documenting their aggressive language directed at him. Both Wiley and Pyle have been charged with assault evidencing prejudice. They are currently incarcerated in Orange County Jail due to unrelated prior charges involving domestic abuse.
