Tamale Mirundi Junior, son of the late controversial political analyst Tamale Mirundi, has been disowned by his clan following a fallout over a family decision to apologize to the Buganda Kingdom. The apology stems from a rift that began during the lifetime of his father, who had publicly criticized the Kingdom and the Katikkiro for reasons known only to him. Before his passing, Tamale Mirundi had waged a vocal war against the Buganda Kingdom, creating a divide between him and the monarch. However, midway through the ceremony, the Mirundi family extended an olive branch, expressing sincere apologies and requesting a meeting with the Katikiro (Buganda Prime Minister) to make amends. Their plea was granted on September 25th, 2024, when the family met with the Katikiro at Bulange in Mengo. During the meeting, the Katikiro, speaking on behalf of the Kabaka (King of Buganda), accepted the family’s apology and urged Ugandans to refrain from using social media as a platform to attack one another.
