A significant gathering took place in the Bay Area and Sacramento as supporters warmly welcomed Yasser Ibarra, First Secretary, and David Ramirez, Second Secretary, from the Cuban Embassy in Washington D.C. The Let Cuba Live tour attracted community members, political activists, religious organizations, and dignitaries such as Oakland's newly elected Mayor Barbara Lee, who rallied in support of Cuba amid rising political assaults from figures like Trump and Rubio. Launched on May 31, the tour featured a welcome luncheon organized by local branches of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The Cuban diplomats criticized President Biden's recent decision to lift Cuba from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list as inadequate. The itinerary included a reception at the Mission Cultural Center and a forum at the San Francisco Unitarian Universalist Church, celebrating Cuba’s accomplishments, such as its remarkable 99% literacy rate and universal healthcare. Ibarra and Ramirez reinforced the need to combat misinformation and highlighted the blockade's adverse impact on the Cuban people. They reiterated the importance of solidarity in the face of U.S. oppression.
