There’s something about outdoor murals that transform impersonal cityscapes into large outdoor galleries. And if the artist nails it, we pause, absorb, and grin at the beauty, the cleverness, the story that we’ve become a part of by noticing. A stories-tall depiction of adolescent love, a rainbow-colored reimagining of Einstein, a tale of golden apples; all these lurk in downtown West Palm Beach. Indeed, the community of business, government and organizational leaders have been voracious in the pursuit of murals to adorn the cityscape — so much so that by one estimate there are more than 40 of them.
