Indianapolis Public Library has announced Alexus Hunt as the new manager for their Center for Black Literature and Culture (CLBC).

Dedicated to celebrating and promoting Black culture, the CLBC offers library patrons over 25,000 books, CDs, magazines, movies, and archives covering topics from Black music history to a large collection of children’s books.
In her new role, Hunt will plan, direct, and oversee the daily operations of the CLBC, including the fiscal operations and managing the staff and volunteers. An alumna of the Center for Leadership Development and a member of the Indianapolis Junior League, Hunt brings her experience as well as her Master of Library Science and a Master of African American and African Diaspora studies from Indiana University-Indianapolis with her as she steps into the new role.
“My lifelong goal has been to serve my community and uplift others,” said Hunt in a press release.
Prior to her appointment as the manager of the CLBC, Hunt was a Youth Services librarian at the Fort Ben branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
