Growing up in Pacific Grove, California, I experienced nature intimately, from majestic redwoods to playful days at Asilomar Beach, witnessing the once-abundant monarch migration. Sadly, their population has plummeted dramatically. The US Fish and Wildlife Service proposed endangered status due to an 80% decline over 40 years. We must urgently prioritize a sustainable future to protect these essential pollinators and preserve our planet.
