The power and necessity of Political Action Committees

However, their primary purpose – to amplify the voices of specific groups in the political process – remains essential to democracy. PACs that prioritize issues important to the people, especially marginalized communities, serve as critical resources that help citizens navigate the often complex electoral landscape, empowering them to make informed voting decisions. The Pink PAC, founded by Quamekia Shavers, provides a compelling example of how a focused PAC can meaningfully contribute to community engagement and voter empowerment. The Pink PAC was born out of the need to bridge the gap in trusted representation, specifically for Black and brown communities.
