In Central Indiana, small businesses represent more than 99% of companies, employing nearly half the workforce. However, the stark reality reveals that over 12,700 small businesses closed between March 2021 and 2022 in Indiana. CDFIs, like the Business Ownership Initiative, play a crucial role in supporting these businesses, providing necessary funding and resources.
