Lanez and his team decided to release new songs while he is incarcerated. His songs have received tons of feedback with fans of his music thinking, “How is the quality of these songs that good?” ​“Cell 245” opens with a prison phone call recording in which Lanez reflects on his struggles, past experiences with violence, and his drive to maintain resilience while incarcerated. The track hits hard with Lanez’s confident delivery over a gritty beat.  ​In contrast, “Wish I Never Met You” showcases his emotional side, exploring the regrets of a toxic relationship over an Afrobeats-infused melody. The lyrics have sparked speculation about whether Lanez was referring to his ex-wife or past relationships, adding personal intrigue to the music. The songs show off his prestige hip-hop/R&B skills. Out of all the songs he released in prison, this song was possibly the best so far.
