Cydney Nunn embodies community focus, poise, empathy, and ambition. As both a CBS news producer and the managing director of the Ruth Williams Opera House, she is committed to creating a space where people feel recognized and valued. Nunn’s formative years in Atlanta, shaped by her father, a celebrated actor, and her mother, who ran a fine arts nonprofit, cultivated the skills that propel her success. Pursuing a Communications degree at Syracuse University, Nunn noted, "I learned how to use my words," a skill instrumental in her career. After a decade as the only Black CBS producer in Pittsburgh, she transitioned to public relations at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, where her expertise flourished. Discovering her passion for community-centered work, Nunn relocated to Los Angeles to seek new opportunities, ultimately returning to her roots with the Ruth Williams Opera House. “Everything happens for a reason,” she reflects, as she continues her evolving journey in the arts.
