A distressing viral video captures a group of young students assaulting a mother and her 9-year-old son, igniting outrage within a Chicago community where local parents are demanding accountability.As reported by WGN, the incident unfolded on November 17 when 33-year-old Carshawnda Hatter was escorting her children home from Orville Bright Elementary School located on the South Side of Chicago.The widely circulated footage reveals a large contingent of children, clad in backpacks, tailing Hatter and her two young ones, hurling insults.Upon catching up with the family, the group escalated their taunts. One child reportedly struck Hatter’s son before the onslaught intensified, with several students attacking Hatter and her son by knocking them to the ground and delivering blows.Both Hatter and her son sustained significant injuries, requiring hospitalization. During a rally at the school, Hatter expressed concern about continuous bullying faced by her son. Community members, including Illinois State Sen. Willie Preston, have echoed calls for accountability, lamenting a history of unchecked violence in the area. Thus far, no arrests have been made, and the attackers' ages remain unknown.
