Third Annual DTW Golf Classic Raises Over $280K for LAHC, Advancing Empowerment and Social Impact

Held in September at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, the event brought together key community leaders and supporters to champion LAHC’s mission of empowerment and service, marking another milestone in the region’s commitment to social impact. WCAA CEO Chad Newton emphasized that one of his goals is to positively impact the community, and the DTW Golf Classic allows airport stakeholders to come together to do just that. “We are excited to partner with LAHC this year and support them as they serve thousands of people in Southeast Michigan,” Newton said. Established in 1982 as a sports-focused organization, the nonprofit based in Dearborn has evolved to meet the community’s diverse needs. LAHC now offers extensive services, including youth development initiatives, scholarship opportunities, mental health support, parenting workshops, literacy classes, and programs to prevent substance use disorders. LAHC serves 56,000 individuals every year. In 2022, WCAA successfully raised $175,000 in donations for Alternatives for Girls, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless and high-risk girls and young women.
