An Atlanta-area school bus driver faces administrative leave and a criminal probe after allegedly forcing a 6-year-old girl off the bus during a torrential downpour, leaving her stranded nearly a mile from home. Kaylani Davis, a first grader at Flat Rock Elementary in DeKalb County, was found by a neighbor, Iasha Parker, who heard her cries for help. “She said the bus driver threw me off,” Parker recalled in disbelief. Kaylani's mother, Alicia McClendon, was shocked to learn her daughter was wandering in the rain after she had just dropped her off at school. “It could’ve been handled much better,” she noted. The unidentified driver, described as a “transportation employee,” is under investigation, with McClendon determined to pursue charges. DeKalb County Schools stated they’re committed to student safety.
