The second leg of the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) District League Primary Schools Under-12 competition kicked off over the weekend, with Vieux Fort South, Mabouya Valley, Central Castries, Desruisseaux, and Canaries all securing big wins.
The competition, which began in August last year, will continue with a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs. All matches over the weekend were played at the SLFA Inc. Technical Centre in Dennery, utilising both the turf and grass fields.
The first match of this round of fixtures on Saturday saw Vieux Fort South defeat the home team, Dennery, with a solitary goal from Rove O’Reilly. The winning goal came in the 60th minute after a goalless first half.
During a simultaneous 10 a.m. kickoff on Saturday, Mabouya Valley put eight goals past Roseau Valley. The highlight of the match was Kerran Louisy’s four goals. Number 7, Vjay Edwin, scored a brace, while Jaca Avril and Keevan Louisy each netted a goal.
