Toronto’s Toxic Sounds Keeping Saint Lucian Culture Alive!

On Sunday October 20 Toxic Sounds Crew, SakPase Toronto, and Music DR Promo in Toronto, staged their annual Kwéyòl activity to coincide with activities for Kwéyòl Heritage Month Celebrations in Saint Lucia.
The event was held at De Runa Banquet Hall and featured live entertainment, food and a display of craft from Saint Lucia.
According to DJ Toxic, who was one of the promoters, this year was exceptional.
“It was a very special year for us as Saint Lucians living in Toronto and celebrating with our fellow Saint Lucians back home all of the successes we have seen this year,” he said.
“At the event on Sunday, we had Meshach from Saint Lucia performing in Toronto for the first time and we were incredibly happy to be a part of that. We also had one of the best Calypsonians from Saint Lucia, De Ashanti and Umpa who is a Dennery Segment master, and they all put on a really good show,” DJ Toxic told St. Lucia Times.
The response from patrons was also particularly good we were told.
