Sources Say Trump Is Weighing Presidential Pardon for Diddy

Former President Donald Trump is reportedly contemplating a presidential pardon for Diddy as he approaches his sentencing. Deadline reports that Trump is “seriously considering” clemency following Diddy's June conviction on two counts under the Mann Act, a legislation addressing the illegal transport of individuals across state lines for unlawful sexual intentions. Although he faced more severe accusations, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, he was acquitted of those charges. In May, Trump expressed he would “certainly” contemplate a pardon for the music mogul. Sources indicate that this notion has evolved from "just another Trump weave to an actionable event." The consideration for pardoning arises after Diddy’s legal team submitted a motion on July 29, requesting his release from pre-sentencing detention, labeling his imprisonment as “unjustified and unprecedented.” His attorneys assert that he is the only individual in the U.S. incarcerated under the Mann Act for consensual acts, arguing that his actions do not align with the law's intent. Diddy has consistently denied allegations of trafficking and abuse.
