On this recent Independence Day, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation honored the memory of fallen Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy Marcus Zeigler by paying off the mortgage on his Cincinnati home, recognizing his dedicated service.“This mortgage payoff provides my family with the comfort of knowing we will retain our home, filled with countless memories of Marcus. Losing it would have deeply devastated me,” expressed his wife, Cassaundra Zeigler. Deputy Zeigler fulfilled his aspiration to serve in law enforcement by joining the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in 2022. Tragically, he passed away at 36 on May 26, 2023, following a medical incident during a training exercise at the Great Oaks Police Academy. He is survived by his wife, high school sweetheart Cassaundra, and their five children: Dominique, Aziah Miles, Marcus, Gionnie, and Dutchess. “Marcus was one of the kindest and most devoted individuals I have ever known—a wonderful father and an extraordinary husband,” Cassaundra reflected.
