During the early second quarter, Chicago's center and forward, Elizabeth Williams, missed a jumper amid pressure from two defenders of Connecticut, with the score at 33–20. Frustrated by the lack of a foul call, Head Coach Tyler Marsh approached the referee to express his discontent, only to be met with dismissal from the game.In his absence, Tanisha Wright took over as interim coach.
