UAB Hospital has achieved the prestigious designation of the top hospital in both Alabama and the Birmingham metropolitan region, as per the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals rankings published this week. “This recognition as the leading hospital in the state and metropolitan area showcases the commitment and proficiency of our physicians, nurses, and staff,” remarked Dawn Bulgarella, CEO of the UAB Health System. “These rankings symbolize our relentless dedication to providing outstanding care and pioneering treatments across various specialties.” This year, UAB Medicine boasts national rankings in five adult specialties, featuring rheumatology at No. 11 and ear, nose, and throat at No. 14. Other notable rankings include obstetrics and gynecology at No. 28, neurology and neurosurgery at No. 42, and geriatrics at No. 49. UAB also recorded seven specialties rated as high-performing, achieving excellent ratings in 19 adult procedures and conditions, which emphasizes its comprehensive patient care excellence. UAB’s influence in healthcare is further showcased by the commendable performance of UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham, positioned at No. 4 in Alabama and No. 2 in the Birmingham metro area, consistently delivering high-quality care to the community.
