Saint Lucia is celebrating its most remarkable achievement at the CARIFTA Games and CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, marked by historic feats on both land and water that yielded record-breaking medals. The 52nd CARIFTA Games in Trinidad and Tobago featured 16-year-old Jady Emmanuel, who became Saint Lucia’s inaugural double sprint champion. She won gold in the Under-17 girls’ 200 meters, clocking 23.47 seconds, and triumphed in the 100m, securing the country’s first-ever gold in that event. Her accomplishments, coupled with Naya Jules’ silver in pole vault and Destinee Cenac’s bronze in high jump, positioned Saint Lucia sixth overall. At the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, Sapphire Parks made waves, amassing four golds and winning the high point trophy.
