Nashville, Tenn. (TN Tribune)-The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), visited Matthew Walker Community Health Center MWCHC to host a roundtable discussion with our AHEC scholars. The group discussed the scholars’ experiences thus far at MWCHC and ways that the Department of HHS could further assist to improve the healthcare workforce. Team members from HHS included Cheryl R. Campbell, Assistant Secretary; Karen T. Comfort, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer; Antrell Tyson, Regional Director for Region 4; Dr. Juantina Johnson, CMO of Indian Health Services (Meharry grad-2003); and Torey Ian Powell, Senior Advisor. MWCHC thanks Cheryl Campbell and her team for visiting to learn more about the great work they do here in Middle Tennessee.
