American singer Chris Brown entered a plea of not guilty on Friday concerning a charge of attempting to cause serious bodily harm following an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub in 2023. Appearing at Southwark Crown Court, the Grammy-winning musician refuted claims that he intended to unlawfully and maliciously injure Abraham Diaw at Tape nightclub in Mayfair on February 19, 2023. Brown provided his name and date of birth before stating emphatically, “Not guilty ma’am” during the court session, as reported by PA Media. His co-defendant, Omololu Akinlolu, also pleaded not guilty to the same allegation. Additionally, they both face charges of assaulting Diaw resulting in actual bodily harm, and Brown confronts a separate charge for possessing an offensive weapon – a bottle – in a public venue. Approximately 20 spectators, many of whom were reportedly fans, attended the hearing. A trial is scheduled for October next year.
