The highly anticipated lower secondary school segment of the National Schools’ Science Quiz saw exciting and fierce competition on Thursday, with Vieux Fort Comprehensive School emerging as the champion.
St Mary’s College placed second and Beanefield Comprehensive Secondary School was third in the competition, which was held in the Finance Administrative Centre (FAC) Conference Room.

On Wednesday, eight schools competed in the primary school level of the contest.
The winner was Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School, while Camille Henry Memorial School was second and Micoud Primary School was third.

Organised by the Curriculum and Materials Development Unit (CAMDU), the quiz sought to expand scientific knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among secondary school students. Schools from all districts participated, showcasing their understanding of various scientific disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology, and environmental science.
Anya James, Curriculum Officer for Natural Sciences, welcomed the participants, celebrating both knowledge and the role of science in shaping the future.
