WASCO Doing Its ‘Utmost’ To Restore Water After Emergency Repairs

Saint Lucia’s Water and Sewerage Company Inc.(WASCO) has announced it is doing its utmost to restore water to customers after recent emergency repairs to large leaks on the raw water line supplying the Theobalds treatment plant. Senior Supervisor Timothy James explained that the company had to shut down the line to facilitate the repairs. James told St. Lucia Times that the situation affected the volume that would have sustained desired consumer demand. He disclosed that after completing the repairs, WASCO restored the water supply. However, the senior WASCO official revealed that the supply was yet to reach all consumers, especially those at the network’s extreme end and higher elevations. “We are doing our utmost to ensure we restore the supply to everyone,” James stated. “We know people are depending on the supply, especially during this time of the year, which is the Christmas season, with their larger families and people coming back home on vacation,” he told St. Lucia Times. “We know our customers are basically panicking to ensure they have a supply,” James noted.
