Dennery Fire Station emergency personnel rushed to the Barre de L’Isle, where a container truck overturned on Saturday.
The emergency responders learned of the incident at about 7:22 pm.
On arrival, they found that a truck hauling a 20-foot container had rolled over on its right side across the road.
The ambulance crew assessed the vehicle’s sole occupant, who declined emergency transportation to a medical facility.
Heavy-duty equipment later moved the overturned container truck, and a Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) appliance flushed the area.
Saturday’s Barre de L’Isle incident was the latest in a spate of road accidents, despite road safety appeals from the fire service, the police, and the National Council on Public Transportation (NCOPT).
Between Wednesday and Thursday last week, thirty-five people sustained injuries as a result of three multiple-casualty road incidents at Goodlands, Castries, and Grace and Aupicon in Vieux Fort.
Eleven students aboard a minibus that ran off the road at Grace were among the injured.
The minibus was transporting the students to the Anse Ger Secondary School when the brakes allegedly failed.
