On Wednesday night, 10th July, California hip-hop group Cypress Hill turned their famous Simpsons cameo into a reality when they performed at Royal Albert Hall with the London Symphony Orchestra. Check out some clips from the performance below.  In a 1996 episode of The Simpsons titled ‘Homerpalooza’, the legendary outfit are depicted as inadvertently inviting the LSO to join them on stage at a festival, “possibly while high”. Now, the 28-year-old joke has finally come true, with the orchestra accompanying Cypress Hill in continuing the 30th anniversary celebrations of their 1993 album ‘Black Sunday’. As well as tracks from that album, hits like ‘Insane In The Brain’ and ‘I Wanna Get High’ appeared with new orchestrally-aided arrangements. “It’s been something that we’ve talked about for many years since the Simpsons episode first aired,” Cypress Hill member B-Real told the BBC. “We’ve played a lot of historical venues throughout our career and stuff like that, but nothing as prestigious as this.” Despite this momentous occasion, it’s not the first time the hip-hop group have performed with a live orchestra.
