The plot of the upcoming movie “The American Society of Magical Negroes” might fall out of traditional boundaries: A community of magical Black people exists to ease the lives of white people — until someone realizes there’s something wrong with this. Black News & Views contributor Kathia Woods caught up with stars David Alan Grier and Justice Smith at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where the satirical comedy premiered. Woods asked them to explain why they’re part of the Kobi Libii film.
