Colorectal cancer (CRC) continues to be a significant health concern for Black Americans, who face higher diagnosis rates and mortality compared to other racial groups. The urgency for effective, accessible screening methods has never been greater. At the 2024 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Mainz Biomed introduced groundbreaking findings from their ColoFuture and eAArly DETECT studies, offering new hope in the fight against CRC. ASCO, the world’s premier oncology conference, provided the perfect stage for sharing these transformative advancements with global experts.
Colorectal cancer disproportionately affects Black Americans, who are more likely to be diagnosed at later stages and have higher mortality rates compared to other groups. The advancements presented by Mainz Biomed could be a game-changer in bridging this health disparity by offering a more reliable and accessible screening method.
The studies involved nearly 700 samples, a significant increase from previous cohorts, highlighting the test’s robustness across different populations, sample types, and geographies. With participants from both Europe and the US, including diverse racial groups, the test demonstrated exceptional sensitivity and specificity. This means it can detect CRC and advanced adenomas (high-risk lesions likely to progress to cancer) with remarkable accuracy.
