Upon my arrival at Howard University School of Divinity, I anticipated enhancing my faith and theological insight. Instead, I became a target for isolation and persecution, not due to moral failures, but for my conservative Christian beliefs while being Black. The hostility I faced began subtly but intensified under Dean Kenyatta Gilbert’s administration as a methodical campaign of intimidation. Supporting conservative views transformed me into a pariah. Repeatedly, my scholarship applications were denied, and opportunities I pursued were thwarted. Faculty fostered toxic environments where sharing biblical perspectives led to mockery. The situation worsened when students callously derided Charlie Kirk’s death, underscoring their ideological entrapment. At Howard, a troubling trend emerged: Black liberals distort genuine community struggles as a disguise for progressive ideologies that clash with Scripture. Professors teach concepts that contradict biblical truths, leading to a theological drift where practices incompatible with Christianity are promoted. The institution must decide: Will it raise faithful Gospel ministers or merely produce activists with degrees? Currently, it fails those of us seeking spiritual integrity amidst ideological persecution.
