A captivating mural by Boxx The Artist has revitalized the Fletcher Place Community Center (FPCC), thanks to the WNBA All-Star Host Committee Legacy Project. In February, this committee allocated funds to FPCC as part of its commitment to empower local nonprofits dedicated to supporting families and youth. The mural's unveiling coincided with various enhancements at FPCC, celebrated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 26. Melissa Drew, the executive director of FPCC, conveyed gratitude towards the committee and its contributors, emphasizing the strength of community partnerships. Since its inception in 1872, FPCC has served Indianapolis' South Side, tackling poverty through compassion and innovative initiatives, including a community garden and affordable daycare for children under five. Boxx The Artist's mural, titled “Rooted Together,” encapsulates the essence of community involvement at FPCC. Additionally, the funding facilitated essential improvements that enriched the facilities and garden, thereby ensuring a sustained positive impact on the community. The AT&T WNBA All-Star 2025 festivities are scheduled for July 18-19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. For more information, visit wnbaallstar2025.com.
