On April 11, shortly after 6:30 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire in a residence hall, discovering a man with a gunshot wound; he is not affiliated with WSSU. The incident reportedly followed a confrontation. Investigators seized nine pounds of marijuana, a firearm, cash, and drug paraphernalia from the dorm. Ja’lon Stallings, 19, surrendered on April 14, facing multiple serious charges. Joyous Gardner, 20, also turned herself in, charged with various drug offenses. This incident marks WSSU's second shooting since February.
