Earlier today (Feb. 13), ABC News published a special feature with members of the Wu-Tang Clan, who spoke on how they’ve managed to maintain longevity within Hip Hop. “We’re true to the game, but we’re true to each other. We’re true to the foundation,” said Cappadonna, while RZA added, “We love Hip Hop [and] we appreciate what Hip Hop culture has blessed us with as a unit. We always say [that] when that Wu-Tang ‘W’ goes up, we come to the core.” RZA then explained the origin behind the group’s iconic name. “Wu-Tang was based on a kung fu movie called Shaolin vs. Wu Tang. And Wu-Tang was the sword technique, it was considered the best sword technique. So, being we felt we had the best lyrics in the game, we had to have something that represents the best sword style.”
