A YouTube video has emerged showing an Arizona police officer with his foot forced into the door of a Black man’s apartment, threatening arrest based on an accusation from a neighbor. The footage captures the distress of the man's 5-year-old daughter, who cries off-camera, believing her father is about to be detained by a Flagstaff officer. “You're already scaring her,” the father tells the officer, who remarks that if the child hits him again, he’ll have issues. Meanwhile, the young girl, expressing her fear, implores the officer to “Please, let go of my daddy!”The Flagstaff police clarified that this incident, which occurred in July 2022, ended without any arrests. Legal experts discuss whether officers can lawfully prevent individuals from closing their doors without a warrant, emphasizing that while officers can put a foot in the door, they cannot enter without having first established legal justification.
