The 25th Amendment permits the removal of a president by the vice president should they be deemed unfit for duty, a topic Goldberg discussed on “The View” on September 24. While addressing migration during his speech in New York on September 23, Trump declared, “Your countries are going to hell,” and derided climate change initiatives as “the greatest con job ever.” After playing a clip of Trump’s contentious remarks, Goldberg expressed her concern, stating, “It’s embarrassing” and highlighting that he fell short of delivering a serious message. Goldberg invoked the 25th Amendment, suggesting that if Biden behaved similarly, she’d support his removal. In response, her co-host Sunny Hostin confirmed the amendment’s identity, while Goldberg criticized the conduct as unpresidential. Meanwhile, MAGA supporters on social media reacted vehemently, calling for consequences against Goldberg.
