18 MNPD Veterans Receiving New Ranks & Leadership Roles Effective Friday

Nashville, Tenn. (TN Tribune)-Chief John Drake this week announced the appointment/promotion of 18 MNPD veterans into new leadership roles effective Friday. Among the 18 are 1 new inspector, 1 new commander, 1 new captain, 6 new lieutenants, and 9 new sergeants.
“The demonstrated talent and commitment of these individuals shows that they areprepared and ready for these new leadership responsibilities,” Chief Drake said. “I lookforward to watching their successes.”

Commander Lee Kendall, a 22-year veteran who currently directs operations at theWest Precinct, is being appointed to the rank of inspector and will serve as the executive officer in the Community Services Bureau. Kendall holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Campbellsville University and a Master’s Degree from Cumberland University.
Captain Steven Bowers, a 15-year veteran who currently oversees the School SafetyDivision, is being appointed to the rank of commander and will direct operations at the West Precinct. Bowers holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee State University and a Master’sDegree from Cumberland University.
